Description

The Superstar II is simply the Cheyenne 400LS of Aerostars. It is the fastest of all Machen conversions. Counter rotating Navajo engines with single large turbocharger. Safer on a single engine, one turbo per side, and no worries of having a lightweight crank case.

The Superstar II was the most expensive conversion at the time and largely the reason it isn’t as popular.

This airplane was highly modified by Eric Krueger, a well known Superstar II specialists to correct the heat issues commonly encountered.

Research the Superstar I and you will find that you have 4 turbos to care for that last approximately 700 hrs. Research Hartzell’s new pricing on those 4 turbos (if you can get them).

Just like the 400LS, it isn’t for everyone. However, if you want the beast of Aerostars this is the one….Countless dollars have been spent to make this airplane up to date and reliable. Capable of 265 knots TAS….

Other Notes:

Arguably the fastest of all Aerostars ever produced. Current owner searched for nicest example available and did not want the twin turbo version, preferred to have the reliability of Navajo Chieftain per combined with no critical engine. Eric Krueger culling mods have corrected the heat issues these are known for
